Well, loyal reader, you no doubt have noticed that the content on Fox Tracks has not been updated as frequently as usual. I won't go into any details as to why, but I do apologize that I have not kept this going as planned. I know you love the great content you've come to expect and I will do my best to bring it to you.

However, football season is now upon us and I have some good stuff to share. I don't even want to think about how bleak that future would be. I'd probably be pumping gas or teaching physics.

What would you say is your best feature?

My best feature I would say is my brain, and I am not talking about anything sexual (right now). My mind is the my best feature and that is the second thing I hear the most other than you are beautiful, I hear you are really intelligent.

What was your first modeling gig? Describe how you felt at that first gig.

My first modeling gig was a fashion show in Sacramento, CA and I was in a fashion show for crotchet swimsuits. I had never done a fashion show before and I was super nervous. Since I was working at Barbizon I had my walk down pat. After talking myself through it I strutted down the "runway" and did my thing. It was so fun, it was also my first paid gig. I even showed my rap skills after the show.

You are working on two books. Without giving too much away, what are the books about?

The two books that I am working on are urban fiction, both which have a positive message in both. One about 4 teens in their senior year of school, the other about 2 urban young adults in their walk into their Christianity.

What is harder, writing a book or modeling?

Modeling is harder. I am a natural writer and it comes easy. Modeling is harder because it takes much harder work and you are constantly trying to stay relevant in the game.

Describe a perfectly sexy day or evening (including what you would or wouldn't wear).

A perfect sexy day would be waking up to the right guy (or girl) and spending the day eating, enjoying some wine, and going to museums or some type of arts event. I would keep it simple but sexy, my favorite cool out outfit are some dark denim skinny jeans, white tank top, and some banging shoes and accessories to complement my outfit. Oh did I forget shopping?

If you could only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

I am a career student who still hasn't gotten that piece of paper to go along with all my years in school, so I know that I need to finish that as soon as possible.

Can I get an amen? The Gospel According to the Barstool Preacher

Once again I turn my attention to the Subculture Collective for a music feature. After discovering the Lonestar Texabilly show, I decided to explore some of the other shows in the collective. The Gospel According to the Barstool Preacher certainly is a name that catches my attention.

I downloaded Episode 72 and the Barstool Preacher played a lot of good stuff: Old 97s, Lucero, Cave Catt Sammy. He also dipped into plenty of classics like Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams. I didn't hear one song I didn't like. Plus, he played a lot of tunes that I have in my collection already.

That being said, the Barstool Preacher took way too long in between songs, sometimes talking for seven or eight minutes between sets of songs. I know that part of the charm of podcasts is that they are not structured like commercial radio. However, people tune into podcasts more for the music than for the host. I don't say that to be rude or mean. I'm just being honest and making a fair assessment. Still, this podcast is worth checking out because the host plays so much good music.

My round puppy eyes. When you look at them you just can't say no!

Well a sexy evening first consist of drinking a glass of wine and running a hot bubble bath, play a little music then maybe masturbate. (laughs) Oh did I say that? We'll just say I like to stay in touch with my feminine side.

What was your first modeling gig? Describe how you felt at your first gig.

I was in the Ms EXXXotica competition, and I'm not going to lie. I do not get nervous often but I was extremely nervous. There were so many beautiful women on that stage with me. I did end up getting 4th place but that experience definitely loosened me up.

What makes a "wow"-worthy photo?

Versatility!

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I would probably have to say current model Tammy Torres, she definitely stays humble beyond the scene.

If you can only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

To be at the top of the game.

First Anniversary Fox (8/4/10): Debra McDonald

Yes, loyal reader, you read that correctly. It was one year ago that this site kicked off, and it all began with a feature of Melissa Irish-Brown. I truly appreciate all the models and musicians that have made this site possible and all the readers who keep coming back.

The First Anniversary Fox is a tremendous model (just as all the Foxes of the Week are). Debra McDonald is a model from Opa-Locka, Florida. I think you'll agree that she is a tremendous way to celebrate a year of models and music. In fact, you know the normal format is a Q&A with the model and 3 photos. Well, for this week, I am going to break format slightly for two reasons. First, one year of Fox Tracks seems like a good reason to give you more photos. Second, this model's photos are so amazing, I couldn't pick only three. And so, without further ado, I present Debra McDonald.

A walking piece of art that enjoys life: a very outgoing, energetic and an all around fun person to be around.

What was your first tattoo and what compelled you to get it?

My first tattoo was a panther on my back. I got it because every one else was getting the panthers and the paw prints. Yes it is covered up now because as I got older and more into art and tattooing I learned to be myself and always decide for me and what I want not on what another has or what the trend is. Hell, I could have been stuck with that mess on me for life---and it was ugly (laughs). But what can you expect when you are stealing ink out of the art room and have your home boy that can draw inking you with a needle, some alcohol and a straight pin. By the way...I got my ass beat when my mom found out! I was 14.

What is your favorite tattoo?

I don't have a "favorite" because everything on me represent some thing different and plays its special role on my body so i guess it would be my entire body because all like one big picture.

Describe a perfectly sexy day or evening, including what you would or wouldn't wear.

A perfectly sexy day: getting tattooed, having some drinks and ________ all night long because the tattooing sensation turns me on! But on a more PG-13 level...I would say that perfectly sexy evening would consist of wearing a spaghetti-strapped silk dress that falls just a little above my ankles with no panties (for no lines of course) and setting a canopy outside in the back yard with flickering candles and twinkling white light. Have a table set for two with champagne or red wine or take it further with some Patron margaritas. Have a specially prepared meal and dessert while listening to a customized playlist on the iPod. After eating, dance together under the lights. After getting both our bodies all worked up take him in the house to a rose petal bath filled with candles that we will share together. I will bathe him but let him watch me sensually bathe myself. Once he can't take any more we ______. (Y’all can use your imagination for the rest.)

Who are some models you admire? Why?

To be completely honest, there are no models that I admire. I take my hat off to those that made it, stayed true to themselves and didn't sell their soul for a publication or a job, those that had to actually work and grind to be called and considered a model.

If you could only be featured in one more publication, which would you want it to be?

I have two - sorry - you know I couldn't just say one (laughs).
Cosmopolitan because it is largest-selling young women's magazine in the world and is famous for its upbeat style, focus on the young career woman and candid discussion of contemporary male/female relationships. Since its founding in 1886, Cosmopolitan has been reporting on modern social trends.
The other one would be Elle because fashion, beauty and entertainment news are found inside Elle magazine. With celebrity stories - not gossip - and guides to finding the best fashion and beauty styles to suit you, Elle brings the superstar look to the average lady and allows you to find your most beautiful self at any age.

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

The one thing I hope to accomplish is change within the modeling industry. I have had so many doors close in my face because I wasn't your typical model (slim, tall, and cleaned skinned) for the mainstream marketing and for a lot of the more urban markets I wasn't getting naked, spreading my legs or having sex with the photographer or magazine owner or editor. I want to bring light that you are beautiful no matter your size, height, shape, tattooed or not. I want to be the first woman of color, full bodied tattooed that has a cover and a layout in one of those top magazines, on billboards for clothing designers and hopefully having the opportunity to start my own clothing line. I just want people to see that there are more women that look like me and more men that like them than what the industry has tried to portray.

Well, loyal reader, by now you have noticed that the music features have been pretty irregular recently. I won't spend too much time bemoaning that fact. I will only say that I haven't been getting much response from music artists. But the show must go on, right?

I recently found a podcast (so much better than commercial radio) called Lonestar Texabilly Radio. I caught up with the podcast in episode 6, which begins with a cover of "La Isla Bonita" by Happy Drivers. To be honest, I cannot stand Madonna, but this song was pretty good, enough to keep me listening.

This podcast features hard-to-find rockabilly and psychobilly tunes. Episode 6 features songs from Cave Catt Sammy ("Your Money Makes You Purty"), King Sickabilly, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, and others. Overall, the host plays a lot of worthwhile tunes that are bound to keep your toes tapping. In episode 6, he did talk a little more than he needed to, but I'm interested enough to check the next episode when it comes around.

Describe your idea of a sexy (day or) evening.

My idea of a sexy evening would be started off by cooking dinner together with my significant other. Then we would sit at a candlelit table and just talk until our food was finished. Next, we watch a funny movie and just hold each other while finishing dessert. Then maybe we make some magic. (laughs)

Describe how you felt at your first photo shoot.

At my first photo shoot I was pretty scared because I didn’t know what to expect but once that camera started clicking I knew this was it. I found my niche and I just went with the flow letting everything come natural.

What is the most challenging thing about modeling?

The most challenging thing about modeling is the prejudices you have to deal with. Everyone thinks that they know what type of female you are just because of the pictures you take. It’s very hard to make a name for yourself in this business so you have to make sure you are doing things to set yourself apart from the wannabes.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I admire any and all models that are doing things right in the business. I feel like any woman who is modeling and still living by her morals and beliefs is a rarity nowadays so I salute them!

What is the one modeling gig you would not turn down?

Fox of the Week (7/21/10): Kaeo Black

Kaeo Black is a model from LA (and yes, she is a knockout, isn't she?). She discusses her first photoshoot, cooking for her man, and a model she admires.

Give us a quick course in Kaeo 101.

My name is Kaeo Black (pronounced K.O...I know I'm a knock out right). My name actually means "The Victorious" in Thai. I'm a model looking to network, work with you, or be of some service. I'm a cool, down-to-earth chick and I like to chill and hang out. I love the Lakers. I love to travel and I am hoping to be able to go backpacking around Europe one day soon. That would be amazing! Other than that I can chill and hang out with my friends and loved ones. Some of my hobbies include sewing(so everything can fit like a glove), cooking, hiking, and my new found love pole dancing. (Not that I want to be a stripper or anything but its really good cardio and it just upgrades your sexy). I just love being the center of attention where ever I go! I am a chemistry and womens studies major at Santa Monica College, hoping to transfer fall 2011 to UCLA. I want to do research in the women's health field, probably on lupus or sickle cell. I am a very intelligent, well spoken model and I want to prove to the world that a model can have both brains and beauty.

You enjoy cooking. What would you cook (the entire meal) for your
significant other for an occasion like a birthday? What would you wear for
the occasion?

I love to cook and bake just about anything! First off, the birthday dinner would be the favorite dish of my man at the time. But if I had to pick, I'd pick one of my favorite dishes. I always like to start off with a fresh salad before any meal. I love mixed green salad with Italian dressing. For dinner I'd make him shrimp penne pasta with a creamy basil pesto sauce, and garlic bread on a sourdough loaf. And I'd add a little fresh basil and chopped dried tomatoes on top for garnish. To drink, I'd probably choose a French Chardonnay or an Italian Pinot Grigio. For dessert I'd hand make him chocolate covered strawberries and feed them to him. As far as my wardrobe goes I would wear a wife beater and a pair of his boxers. I think if a woman can pull this look off and still be sexy she's a keeper! I don't always have to be in lingerie to keep my man's attention.

Describe how you felt at your first photoshoot.

My first photo shoot was a DISASTER! The photographer was such a pervert and made me feel so uncomfortable! He was growling and making sexual passes at me the entire time I was shooting. I think he thought he was making me feel sexy, but he was actually making me feel uncomfortable and nervous. I was so happy I brought a friend with me to the shoot though. After that I was done with modeling! Luckily about a month later a friend of mine shot with a photographer I'd been talking back and forth to on Myspace and told me how sweet and professional he was. So I decided to give it another try with him. I am so happy I did because I haven't stopped since!

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I really admire Suelyn Medeiros. She's extremely beautiful and she seems really sweet even though I don't know her personally. None of her posts on twitter are ever bitchy or negative and I love that! I am a very positive and humble person and I feel like she has that same attitude. I hate a woman that thinks shes the baddest chick in the world because there is always a woman in the world that's prettier. I know we should all be confident but there is a way to show your confidence without being arrogant and cocky. I think she's gorgeous and I would love to meet her one day!

What is one modeling job you would never turn down?

I'd never turn down a modeling job that I could potentially learn and gain experience from. Gaining knowledge and meeting people is more important to me than the actual job itself, because in this industry sometimes you can get farther solely on who you know.

If you could only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

If I would accomplish just 1 more thing, it would be to be in a fashion add on a billboard on Sunset. My ultimate modeling goal is to be on a billboard and I would love for it to be where everyone can see it, so why not have it on Sunset Blvd!

A sexy evenin for me...hm...wearing a nice fitted dress (no underwear) with the tallest stillettos possible. Inside of a South Beach club surrounded by the stars and friends.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

Buffie the Body because she changed that light-skinned versus the dark-skinned modeling stereotype. She is a great example of taking what she has to get what she wants. She has workout videos, books, comics, and more. She basically stepped out of the box and did something other than the norm. Also Tyra Banks to pick her brain and absorb all of the information she was offering to release. She has gone above and beyond everyone’s expectations.

What one modeling gig would you never turn down?

Music Videos because it allows me to be even more creative by becoming a totally different character.

If you could only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

My own dvd titled, ALL THE WAY LIVE.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Mailman, city worker, delivering papers, truck driver - something where I had to work with as few other people as possible.

I’m a 29 year old full-time mother & part-time model originally from New Orleans. I began modeling only about a year ago when my best friend & now manager Kitty Kennedy got me started in the business. I’ve been published quite a few times since then and have plenty of features that I’m presently waiting on being being released.

Describe how you felt during your first photoshoot.

My first photoshoot was a scary, but fun experience for me. I was really nervous in the beginning, but both Kitty & the photographer Ralph Lenard made me very comfortable. Ralph is a great photographer to work with and he made me feel sexy, which calmed me down and brought out something in me I didn’t know I even had. I know that sounds crazy!

What do you find most challenging about modeling? What do you find most rewarding?

In the beginning the most challenging thing for me was how to control my facial expressions. Even after all of this time, I’m still working on that. I sometimes struggle with the things I’m dealing with in life while shooting, and I’ve learned that’s a big no-no! Everything you feel shows on your face, so I try to leave the outside world on the outside so that I can focus on being a beautiful fantasy in someone else’s eyes. The most rewarding thing is seeing myself published. I love that!

What is the one modeling gig you would never turn down?

Either to shoot with someone in the business that I admire, or to have to travel to a place I’ve never been to do a shoot.

If you could only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

I’d like to be on the cover of a major publication, not just featured on the inside.

We get into plenty of trouble, even without the music. We're always looking for other ways to document the madness.

What is essential to every Psychostick song? What about every Psychostick show?

The Psychostick song formula goes like this: Song idea + laughter + more ideas + procrastination = GOLD. Well, maybe aluminum. Something like that. As for our shows, we strive to keep things flowing with intensity and humor. This sort of combination I find rare in live shows, and while we're not exactly pioneers in this regard, we hope to bring it up to the next level.

Describe your experience touring with Nashville Pussy.

Our touring experiences with Nashville Pussy was enlightening. We made great buddies with their sound guy Mark. Matter of fact, we even hit up a Barcade for drunken video game adventures.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

I'd like to write and record something with Weird Al. There's a ton of great metal artists that I'd like to work with, but I've been listening to Weird Al for a long time and he's such an inspirational guy. Maybe someday!

Is the song "Girl Directions" inspired by a true story?

It's based on a plethora of true stories. I first ask for an address. Then they'll usually start giving directions before I get an address. Afterwards I'll ask, "Can I have the address just in case I screw up your directions?" Works every time.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I'd either be building websites or designing video games. I'm probably going to strive for video game design once we decide touring makes us want to vomit all over our feet.

I am Mexican-American, born and raised in Naples, Florida. I am pretty new to the modeling industry but so far I absolutely love it! I hope to get published in magazines soon and be able to inspire someone that is also in this industry. Even though I have a passion for modeling, I am a nurse and plan to gets my Masters degree to become a Physician’s Assistant. I am very persistent, funny and always looking for ways to push me one step further to pursuing my goals.

What has been your favorite modeling job so far?

I have been in a few fashion shows and I would have to say being in front of people and walking down the runway is a great feeling.

In what artist's video would you most like to appear? Why?

I am a big fan of Hip-hop and R & B, so it would kind of hard to choose a few. I would love to be featured in a video with Ne-Yo, his videos always seem to get my attention and I feel that I would be a good match in one of his videos (hint hint, Ne-Yo).

Who are some models you admire? Why?

In my opinion I couldn’t narrow it down to admire just one model or even have a favorite. To me all models inspire each other in their hard work and dedication; we all have something unique about us in every way. There are so many types of models and and all have to put in that extra credit to get where we want to be in their career.

What is the most rewarding aspect of modeling?

One of the most rewarding aspects would have to be people looking up to you not only as just a model but as an individual person and someone that you could possibly be a role model to and set a good positive example for others.

If you could only accomplish one more thing, what would it be?

One thing about me is I love to help others and If could make a difference in someone else’s life than that would mean the world to me. If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Usher because I feel he's the perfect person to make a hit record with and get the respect and recognition deserved.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Pursuing a career in psychology. I feel nowadays artists tend to forget that it's good to have a back up plan even if you have longevity in this business. It's never too late to go back to school or to finish school: better late than never is the code I live by.

What is essential to every DCS show?

Electricity, sweat, spoons, twang, cheers, booze, dancing, aggressive dancing, Cate Hate’s bloody splinter filled knuckles, ‘Bama Slim’s Don’t give a Fuck outfits, an electric ukulele, Bullseye's striking good looks, George’s devastating upright bass grooves, booze, an A-Hole attitude, family, friends, drunkards, some guy who hates us, some chick who loves us, flash bulbs, booze, and an olde yellow gas can with Denver City Saltlicks painted on it and the taste of a dirty water hot dog with NO relish.

Describe how your sound is familiar, yet something people have never heard.

Well, all of DCS songs are rooted in Olde Tyme traditional sounds. Be it Bluegrass, Spirituals, Doo-Wop, Classic R & B, Honky Tonk, Surf, Blues and Country. We try to keep to the heart of the band and its focus...classic sounds, but it becomes something new when you factor in that you have a brother/sister vocal duo, electrified ukulele, a home-made Didley Bow, punk’d out washboard, a Rock style drum kit, Upright Bass and a Punk Rock aggression, attitude and treatment. We hope people walk away feeling like they think they knew what was going on but will have to hear it again to really get it.

If you could write and record a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

‘Bama Slim: Sweet Sunny South from Paonia, Colorado. This traditional olde tyme Bluegrass band was one of my 1st inspirations to create a sound like ours. Of course they’d have to “amp up,” but their energy, songwriting and style is somewhere I could be and rawk.

Cate: Well, I would love to record with some of my musical idols, but it might be too risky. I mean, I don't want my idea that Greg Graffin is the coolest mother fucker in the world and I sit down with him and he might be a total asshole. I'd be crushed. We just finished recording our first album and I am still high on that because we had so much fun doing it. So, I would have to say the great cats in our band. I can't wait to get back in with them.

Bullseye Dray: It would have to be Johnny Cash. Just hearing the First American Recordings when they did that recording in someone's living room, sounds like a lot of fun. It was just brilliant. And, especially after reading his autobiography, it was like you were sitting across the table from him telling his stories.

George: Buddy Holly. He has been my all time favorite musician since I was a kid.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Music IS our second job seeing as though the band is made up of career-minded family folk, but if we weren’t tied down and we were on the road making it happen and then the Apocalypse descended? Well, we’d probably be cannibalistic road warriors on the hunt while sing a jaunty tune about eatin’ brains…salt cured of course.

The most challenging part of being in a band is overcoming the letdowns you experience. It seems that if you are in a band there are 100 people who want to take every penny from you and give you nothing in return. They say how much they love your band and this great opportunity coming your way, but they are really just scam artists. TIP! If you're in a band, and someone says they like you and they want you apart of ________, but you need to pay money. It's a scam, don't do it!

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Lady Gaga! She actually is a great artist. She writes all her own material and have you ever seen her play piano? She is incredible. The Madonna of our age. To write a song with her would be quite an experience; along with the elaborate live performances she puts on. We'd be down for that.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

If we weren't playing music we would all be lost. It's integrated so far into who we are as people and how we are all friends. If we had never started the band I think we'd all be regular college students.

I am a Creole sensation from Louisiana. Although I have just recently acomplished my first publication in TitaniumGirlz latest edition, modeling is not new to me. I have been modeling on and off since age 11. Two years ago, I decided to pursue the urban/glamour aspect of modeling...although I do intend to branch out into areas in the future.

What would you say is your best feature?

My best feature besides the obvious, would have to be my personality. You can be beautiful on the outside, but if you are not just as beautiful on the inside...your outer beauty will not get you very far.

What do you find most rewarding about modeling? What do you find most challenging?

I find it very rewarding that you get to showcase your hardwork, time,and efforts that are put into a photoshoot. What I find most challenging about this industry is that there are alot of fakes and wannabes. So it is sometimes dificult to distinguish between someone genuine and a phony that might be trying to hurt your career.

How do people misjudge or underestimate you?

People definitely misjudge me by thinking just because I model that I do not have any other great attributes to offer. This is so not true. I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelor Degree. Modeling is my passion, but education has always been my priority.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I definately admire my mentor Kitty Kennedy, she is a hard worker, she is very genuine, and wants to help others succeed as well. I also admire Lisa Raye and Melyssa Ford because they started off as models and later branched out into aspects of the entertainment industry.

If you could only accomplish one more thing in your career, what would it be?

I would love to become one of the leading entrepreneurs in the country.

The Fly Kingdom: File under World Fusion

A one-man band that can also expand to many members since it's all about the combination of styles that include Indian Classical music and extend to add anything else that might add to the mix.

Describe the band's transformation from its previous sound to the current incarnation.

The Fly kingdom started out as a Gothic band that sounded more like Marilyn Manson. But after three CDs the style was no longer something that I could pursue. Some time after my friend Rose Monaco was diagnosed with M.S. and that inspired to make a change and make more positive music. Something that would inspire hope rather than hate. Together with the idea of making positive change and suggestions from co-worked and friend Carlos Avila the sound progressed to what has now been called "If Santana Went To India". Currently the band has taken yet one more change as I have used the wah pedal less and less and instead replaced it with a more symphonic sound. A sound that both the east and west can fully appreciate.

Where would you file your music in a record store?

World Fusion.

If you could write and perform a song with any one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Anoushka Shankar, Ravi Shankar or Niladri Kumar. They are fantastic sitar players and also composers who have gone beyond the stretch of their own style and made a sound of their own. They have also been my influences to pick up the sitar.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I would probably be nothing since I feel music has been my calling since I was kid. Although I did not pick up an instrument (the guitar) till I was in my teens, I have always had an appreciation for music. That appreciation turned into an obsession that has been my drive to overcome whatever obstacles that are put in front of me in order to continue making music.

Des'Monae is a model from Maryland. She discusses her first modeling gig, studying creative fields, and her goal to help single moms pay for college.

How did you get started modeling?

Actually my brother was modeling and he had a fashion show coming up that needed more kids, so I took my daughter to audition and not only did they want her they wanted me as well. So I did the fashion show because it was a benefit show to raise money for a women's/kids shelter. From that one show I was approached by local designers, and managers and eventually ventured into print.

Describe how you felt at your first modeling gig.

My first gig was the benefit fashion show and I was very excited honestly. I was anxious and a little nervous in the beginning but once the music started I was in my own world and had fun. I never thought about modeling before this event. I was the tomboy who played sports and spent my time drawing or painting but as I look back on my first gig, I realized how many doors it has opened up for me not only for modeling but for my artistic talents as well. I was now introduced to another a "artistic" field that I feel as though I can excel in. The fact that I made it in so many different fashion shows regardless of the fact that I didn't meet the height requirements or the size requirements proved to me that I can do anything that I want.

You have studied a lot of creative fields. Which is your favorite? Why?

Art is a passion of mine and I have studied web design, 2D and 3D animation, video production, game art design, aspects of fine art such as painting and sculpting, graphic design, fashion design and construction, etc. I love every aspect of art but my favorite field would have to be Video Production. I consider it to be my favorite because as with all fields there are rules and boundaries but you have a lot of freedom in film to express yourself and be as creative as you want. Also the fact that if you do it right you can break the rules. I love everything from preproduction work like storyboarding, concept art to production with direction and post-production editing. To have a vision and to be able to produce that vision for others to see is amazing!

If you could make a living at something other than modeling, what would it be? Why?

Modeling is great but it's not what I would call my dream career. Being in front of the camera is wonderful but I would be just as happy being out of the limelight. Whatever career path I finally choose will be art and/or math-oriented. I am a very creative person and love to use my creativity whenever I can. I orginally wanted to do architectural engineering and I have been thinking about going back to school to pursue that dream, but I may just take up drafting and design first since I currently work with a construction company and I am receiving a lot of hands-on experience.

Who are some models you admire?

I don't just admire a specific model, I admire all the models who dedicate their life, energy and time to perfecting their craft. We can learn from each other and each model brings something different to the table. Modeling is not easy at all, it takes self-discipline, dedication, time, energy, persistence and hard work to do it successfully and anyone who possesses these qualities should be admired regardless of their profession.

If you could only accomplish one more thing in life, what would it be?

A goal that I would like to accomplish would be to set a scholarship/funding system for single mothers who chose to push past the many barriers associated with motherhood to better themselves inorder to support their family. Higher education is very expensive and not only do single mothers need support financially but emotionally and socially as well. To be able to help a female obtain a higher degree in a field of her choice would make my day. The system will not just provide help with tuition but with child care, housing if need be, school supplies, and the essentials needed whether its extra tutoring or transportation help. I want women to know that having a family is never a set-back and they have the power to overcome all steroetypes and obstacles associated with their situation.

What would you say is your best feature?

My lips. I think they are absolutely perfect! Full, soft, and so damn sexy. I always pout them like crazy in my pics!

What sets you apart from other models?

I do things myself. I don't sit on my ass waiting on others to make moves for me. I'm a headstrong go-getter. Plus I work a full-time job, so I have something to fall back on.

Describe how you felt at your first photoshoot.

I was a nervous wreck! I was so worried about every little thing, and I kept asking my photographer dumb questions, but everything turned out amazing. It was a great learning experience and I will always remember it.

What do you like most about modeling?

Like any woman, I absolutely LOVE make-up, lingerie, jewelry, and high heels. I feel that nothing is sexier than being someone's fantasy. Also, I love traveling all over the country for shoots and parties. The jet-setting lifestyle never seems to get old.

What do you find most challenging?

The most challenging part has to be all the pre-conceived notions that people have about glamour models. Not all of us sleep our way to the top. I am a strong-willed woman that was raised with class, and I will NEVER let someone belittle me for a lousy "15 minutes of fame".

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I really admire Jesika Maximus, Jessica Burciaga, and Kim Kardashian because they are all beautiful ethnic women that have amazing natural curves and are all so naturally photogenic. I also admire my BFF Jayonna Fabro because she's such a smart, sexy, business minded woman that doesn't let the industry change her.

If you could only accomplish one more thing in your career what would it be?

I would like to become a mainstream model. I've already shot for a bunch of smaller publications, but I've yet to be able to go into the local 7-11 and pick up a magazine with me in it. I know it will happen one day, but it just can't come soon enough!

Dudley Taft: Writing in the blues is liberating

Dudley Taft is a blues artist from Seattle. He discusses playing in a band with Trey Anastasio, what he learned from touring as a part of the band Sweet Water, and with whom he would like to write a song.

In high school, you founded a band with Trey Anastasio. Describe what that band was like. Would you have ever guessed that Trey would go on to have the success he's experienced?

That was Space Antelope. We played mostly cover songs, and a few originals. The fun there was mostly in the practicing: we had very few gigs. Trey and I did a lot of improvising, vibing off of what the Grateful Dead were doing. That improvising was very cool and has influenced my career, and obviously his! Trey always had this boundless energy- indefatigable is a good word to describe it. Most successful people I know have serious drive, and Trey really lives his music.

What drew you to the blues?

My teenage years were full of what is now classic rock, and that stuff was really an extension of the blues. I listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Ted Nugent, Kiss, etc., a lot of what was on the radio at the time (this was the late '70s). Listen to Machine Head by Deep Purple- TONS of blues there. Little did I know it at the time, but blues was really the cornerstone of that stuff. Doing research now into the blues of the '40s '50s and '60s, it is evident that amercian blues pioneers like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Freddie King, etc. were really the rock stars. And Lighnin' Hopkins with those huge wayfarer shades! Bad Ass!

Writing in the blues genre is very liberating- unlike in some rock bands I have been in on major labels, I am not worried about writing a "hit" or about taking a long guitar solo. If I have something to say I just say it....

You toured with some very well-known acts as a member of Sweet Water. What did you learn from touring with those bands?

Uh, that Jagermeister can be dangerous.... Some of the bands that I was fortunate enough to plays shows with really enjoy playing live and strive to make it fresh every show. Some bands just learn the songs and play them the same way every time. Like pressing "play" on your CD player. Playing blues involves listening and improvising every night, so that is something that I need to have in order to feel alive!

How would you describe your experience with major labels like Atlantic and Capitol? Do you think you would ever go back to that?

That era is over for the moment. The big cash advance, the hundreds of thousands of dollars in tour support. The labels had such a controlled system that it was tough to make it without them. Nowadays you have to do it yourself which is a lot of work, but it certainly is what you make of it! As a band on a major label, you were very much at the mercy of what the company wants to put their muscle behind. For most bands, like Sweet Water, we were almost ignored. Very frustrating. Second Coming was in a much better position- we were signed by Gary Gersh who was the president of the label at the time, but during our first album cycle, he and the top staff were let go by EMI. So, we really didn't get a good chance since the new regime wanted to focus on their urban artists.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Probably Neil Young. He is a great songwriter, and one of my idols. I'd be happy just to have a beer with him.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Trying to be an actor! (laughs) I really don't know...

I would write a song with R. Kelly because I look at him as being a great artist. I grew up listening to him.

Which is more challenging: writing songs or modeling? Which is more rewarding?

I would say writing a song is more challenging. Also writing a song is the more rewarding.

I admire Omayra. She has a unique look to her and she has different looks on every photo she takes.

If you could only do one, would you choose music or modeling?

Music Is my life.

Secret Citizen from Orange County, CA, was formed around the unique sound of Calvin Riley lead vocals and songwriter. Calvin is a determined, driven artist that eats, sleeps and works music. How might a Secret Citizen song come together?

(Calvin, guitar, vocals) An SC song comes together through the process of "jamming it out". An idea comes to the table and the idea is played out in rehearsals until we find a groove. After the groove is established we work on structure and momentum and eventually we find the pattern of each song and play them till we drop.

What is essential to every SC song?

(Calvin) It is essential for every SC song to be written with feeling and personality. With every song comes the question, how is this song suppose to make the audience feel? and with that answer we find the structure to build upon.

If you could have a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose?

(Ben, bass) Anyone who can have an open discussion about music without getting too "I'm an expert" about what they do. Too many times you meet people who believe "good" music is a certain type. Music is an art. You can't be closed minded and really embrace it or make it your life.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

(Jay, lead guitar) Promoting events and gatherings that support live music. All of us do everything we can to keep people interested in Music, especially in these times when Art is considered a "luxury" item. when really it's as important as breathing or eating.

What is one type of modeling job you will never turn down?

I will never turn down Playboy. That is something I really want to accomplish by or before I'm 25. Playboy is very tasteful nothing too explicit. Marilyn Monroe was the first model featured in Playboy so I find that to be a great accomplishment.

What do you find most rewarding about modeling? What do you find most challenging?

I view modeling as an art, so I love the pictures the most and I like the critique from other people good or bad.

You're relatively new to modeling. What do you enjoy most about it?

I enjoy modeling because you get to play a character from time to time during shoots. I gained confidence and my self-esteem increased. I also enjoy modeling because you never know who you're going to meet!

What do you find most challenging about it?

Getting my name out there and not getting stereotyped as just eyecandy material. I have many diffrent sides that I plan to showcase.

What makes a great photo?

What makes my photos is great is I am willing to try new types of shoots and I am very comfortable with my body.

How do people underestimate or misjudge you?

People misjudge me by thinking I am not smart and that all I do is play in the mirror all day. I am actually very intelligent and enjoy talking about things that are happening in the world.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I admire Jennifer Lopez she did modeling at one point during her career and I have always looked up to her. I admire her confidence, style, and her fashion taste. I also love the fact that she is multi-talented and owns her business.

What types of modeling do you do?

Promotional, I rip the runway fashion show, hair show, freeze modeling, video model

Describe how you felt at first modeling job.

My first job was a photoshoot for an aspiring photographer...it was soooo hot. Although before I never really had an issue with being in front of the camera, I was so determined for my first photoshoot to be a success that I was nervous yet very anxious and excited. I did have a lot of fun though I did more thinking and concentrating about it than actually having it. Despite all those feelings, the shoot turned out really well.

What sets you apart from other models?

The easiest way to put it: face of a model, physique of an athlete, and personality of the girl next door. (laughs) But it's often said to me that most models are stuck-up, arrogant, and not very personable and find it very surprising that my personality is totally opposite. Sunshine...inside and out.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

Eva Marcille because she is a young, African-American, beautiful, intelligent, SHORT, fashion model/actress. I admire her for not letting people tell her no because of her height and for getting past her insecurities, which is something we have in common...as well as previously being tomboyish before getting into modeling.

What makes a great photo/photoshoot?

A theme that tells a story, a model that can deliver the story, and perfect lighting for that particular theme. The model should have energy, flexibility, and poise and the photographer is key to framing the model as she delivers the theme through her facial expressions and body language.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

Simply to inspire other young women through hard work, love, and motivation.

LA band Red Tide: brimming with earthly delights

Describe your music for someone who has never heard it.

Ambient space rock with electronic elements, but brimming with earthly delights.

What should someone expect from a Red Tide show?

Beer, girls, and some quiet, existential introspection.

What is the ideal location for a Red Tide show? Who else would you put on the bill?

A backyard on a summer night in the Northeastern woods, or a flyer party at the bottom of the LA river. The bill would include My Bloody Valentine, Fisher Meehan, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Superhumanoids, and the Beach Boys.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Thom Yorke would be legendary, but we'll go with Animal Collective because they'd be more fun to work with. They produce a pleasant cacophony of meta-conscious good vibes.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Andrew: A subversive urban artist.
Teddy: Working for IBM.
Spencer: Writing.
Giuliano: Making different music.

Fox of the Week (4/7/10): So Sweet Venus

What was your first modeling gig? Describe how you felt at that gig.

My first modeling gig was a video shoot I did in Miami. I was very excited and I had so much fun on the set. The girls were nice and the atmosphere was perfect!

When did you know you were hooked on modeling?

When I realized that modeling could be a potential way to open doors to other ventures.

What is the most rewarding part of the job? What is most challenging?

Meeting great people is the most rewarding. The most challenging is the negativity that people view models with.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

As far as Urban Models...Melyssa Ford, Ki Toy, Karrine Steffans.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

There are so many things I want to do but one thing would be to start a modeling agency and to do something positive to help educate up and coming models about the industry.

What is essential to every Free Lions song?

Curiosity. Hopefully some creativity too. And fun. I sometimes forget that last one. But it's pretty important.

What sets Free Lions apart from other bands?

We aren't "going for" anything. We're trying to make the best music possible. That's it. Hopefully people find something they like.

If you could have a beverage and a conversation about music with anyone, who would it be? Why?

John Lennon. I think he's a pretty interesting guy. He led a fairly exciting life and I would enjoy hearing his perspective on things.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Traveling. I need to get out and see some more of this place. Hopefully I can do both!

Fox of the Week (3/31/10): Tana Xotica

For those of you that have been waiting for some Latina representation here on Fox Track, wait no further. Tana Xotica is a model from New York with Peruvian and Puerto Rican heritage. She discusses her first photoshoot (and first impression), what sets her apart, and what she would like to accomplish.

Give us a quick course in Tana 101.

Living in the moment, always full of energy everywhere I go, and very optimistic would be my top three ways of describing me. I am of Peruvian and Puerto Rican descent born and raised in Brooklyn. Love to travel and have moved around plenty of times since I was 16 but came back to New York eventually.

How did you get started modeling?

E.P.E.M. Inc is an all-female promotions company and I am the promotions director. We did a photoshoot for the website with a photographer named Desi Adorn and since that day Desi was very into my "exotic look". I was so tired doing this shoot off of 3 hours of sleep and this was my first time ever doing one. So, my first impression wasn't the greatest one but it worked out at the end, and that was the beginning of the discovery of Tana Xotica the model!

What sets you apart from other models?

Personality that leaves a long lasting positive impression (unless I haven't slept, sets me apart from the rest. I have the ability to influence people and this is something I do without even realizing it sometimes. (laughs)

How do people underestimate or misjudge you?

Well, because I tend to walk around with a mean-looking expression, people think that I have a tough shell when really I easily get hurt.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

Suelyn Medeiros is one, she is stunningly gorgeous and has true talent reflected in every photo she takes. Also, Christina Milian who is a triple threat singing, dancing, and acting. She's a great role model for the young girls and I think she's real genuine in evreything she does.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

I will eventually gain enough status to where I am able to influence the modeling industry to broaden the typical idea of what a model should be or look like and personally I would LOVE to be successful enough to have my own animal sanctuary because I am an animal lover!

What sets you apart from other psychobilly bands?

Everyone in the band listens to different music. Anthony(the new drummer) listens to AC/DC, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Nelson(upright bass) listens to ska and punk. Johan(singer/guitarist) likes hardcore punk and metal so we feel like all of our styles make the songs unique.

What does it mean to you to have the opportunity to play Ink n Iron later this year?

It's huge for us. We're playing with X, Stiff Little Fingers, Hepcat, The Bronx and the Aggrolites. We really got to step it up that night to complete with these great bands.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose?

Johan: It would be Mike Ness of Social Distortion.
Nelson: Koefte Deville of Mad Sin.
Anthony: Johnny Cash.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

We'd be working at a music store.

Modeling has been your dream since 14. What drew you to it?

Growing up around my cousin Cherise motivated me. She was a runway model. I thought she was so beautiful in everything she done. Cherise wore gorgeous clothing, shoes, purses and hair, nails. Her makeup was always flawless. When I lost her I became addicted to modeling. Started Barbizon modeling school in Chicago and dancing in strip clubs at age 16. I would only hang around older women that had anything to do with modeling, stripping, and getting money. Also they could get me into VIP places. I call them my big sisters. My big sisters made me go to cosmetology school to get my license so i would have a back-up plan. It involved beauty so I loved it as well. By the age of 18, I had my own girls modeling for me in Chicago clubs. Things haven't changed that much for me since then.
What is your best feature?

Hips & eyes. My photographers say my hips are too wide for my little body. I'm 5'3", 127 lbs, 39-inch hips. I was told my eyes change with my mood. I never see it.

What challenges do you find in modeling as opposed to when you started?

New agency and photographers you never worked for...you can't trust everyone.

Who are some models that you admire? Why?

Iman and Beverly Johnson. They inspire me to succeed in whatever I do because both are supermodels and entrepreneurs: Iman with her skin care, fragrance, and her own makeup line. Beverly Johnson with her hair collection. All these are part of everyday beauty (cosmetology) like myself.

What is one goal you must accomplish?

My own VIP club. I already have girls modeling lingerie. We need a location and place then my goal will be accomplished.

Pinche Gringo: caveman meets Neil Diamond

Describe your sound for someone who has never heard you play.

My music is a mix between a caveman beating on a rock, a Mexican hippie jam band and Neil Diamond.

How long did it take you to master what it takes to be a one-man band? What was the most difficult part of the learning process?

I am a natural at it. I am a multitasker in all my day-to-day activities. The hardest part was trying to do it barefoot.

Why should I have your music in my collection?

Because if you don't, the dead of Mexico will haunt your dreams forever

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

I would like to perform with Cat Stevens cause he's an outlaw rebel and his music is pretty. Although, I think David Bowie is a better dresser.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Calibrating scales, eating tacos and churros and watching Seinfeld and Red Dawn.

How did you get started with SoCal Glamour Girls?

I actually got started with SoCal Glam through the lovely Kat. I'll tell you a little secret...she happens to be family. I found out she had her own site and just couldn’t stay away! After all the information and the fun she was telling me she was having I had to dive in. I love meeting new people and getting crazy with all the girls, working on the site is so awesome!

What do you like best about being a SoCal Glamour Girl?

I love the fact that I get to be a connection between relationships. The site really does create bonds not only through the models but the members as well. We all get to interact and have nothing but tons of fun. The cooking show Bitch in Kitchen with Savannah is probably one of my favorites. Who doesn't like to have an incredible conversation in the kitchen with a glass of wine and occasional spankings? She is so much fun and brings life to the party. That is what life is about and we bring that to the table for everyone to share and be a part of. Plus what girls doesn’t love to be sexy and get in front of a camera?

You are a big music fan. What kind of music do you like to have playing at a photo shoot?

I am a huge music fan and love to listen to experience new taste and all varieties. If anyone has suggestions I’m totally down to experience that. I love all music and I'm a jazz singer so I feel it's important to dabble into a little bit of everything. I listen to punk rock music mostly. It always gets me pumped for a shoot and gives me a little spin on life. There is always have some sort of music playing at every point of my day.

If you could meet and talk with one music artist, who would it be? Why?

I wish I could have met the elegant Ella Fitzgerald. She was such an influence on the jazz lifestyle and one of the first and only women to perfect the scat. She is such an inspiration and it would be an absolute privilege to learn under her.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

Honestly a goal I hope to accomplish is to make it through school and get my career going. I am a very goal-oriented type gal and I can’t wait for my opportunity to shine! I have about two more years of school left until I finish my degree in nutrition then I can really focus on life’s goal.

What was your first modeling job? Describe how you felt at your first gig.

My first gig ever was HIN 2006 in which I was fresh out of high school, completely nervous and completely unprepared.

What makes a good photoshoot?

A good shoot involves a couple of elements.

Good wardrobe (or none at all).

Great energy: enjoy your location or set. Have fun be relaxed. Be yourself, no nerves, no timidness.

Great relationship/comfortability between you and the photographer: Gotta have that chemistry and want the same thing out of the shoot.

Communication. Your photographer should be able to effectively communicate with you and you should be able to receive and deliver.

What makes you look at a photo and say "Wow!"

Concepts impress me most. Seeing things I've never seen before. Just thinking outside of the box.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

You recently returned from a European tour. Tell us about that trip. How does touring in Europe differ from touring in the States?

We did extremely well over there. We're going back for a bit longer stay this August-September. We'll be doing some festivals and some club dates as well. Europeans are still extremely supportive of live music. They're not jaded yet like Americans are. They'll go see a band they don't know just because they think it may be cool. The days of people doing that in America are unfortunately gone. We're too busy Twittering to interact directly with humans anymore.

If you are putting together a bill with just one other artist, who would you choose? Why?

We just played with Civet and they were great. We'll be doing more dates with them hopefully this year. We'd would love to tour with Nashville Pussy and/or Tom Jones. That guy gets more ass I swear.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Leading a coalition to bring back Blue Chip Stamps...duh?!

What is essential to every B-Monster song?

No rules. But there is a template. The B-Monster template reads; Keep it simple. Riffs. Backing vocals. An odd sound. A cool title. Enjoy it. Repeat. Finish under three minutes. I like the B-Monster sound - usually fuelled by exploitation/trash cinema. What should the soundtrack sound like for the title; 'Naked Machine Gun Girls'? Then go dream it up. B-Monster uses the 'Wailing Wall Of Sound' - I made it at home. 168 speakers that all work - I crank the whole lot during points in the show - a subsonic rumble that shakes the walls. Cost me less than a brand name guitar and stack. Or a drumkit. I don't need the WWOS to play a gig, I want to use the WWOS at a gig! It's fun. It's ridiculous. We invite people to play it too. Ideas cost nothing - they're priceless.

If you could sit and have a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

Malcolm Gladwell or Seth Godin. They stir your cranium. Lateral thinkers - the curiosity of human behavior - solo or en masse. Interesting stuff - they'd probably do a great rant. North America under the microscope. Music as the number one communicator. Politics & Religion would love that power. Music pisses all over Fear. Be fearless and excited.

If you could write and perform a song with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

The Queen of Scream Dreams - Tura Satana (Faster Pussycat Kill Kill). It'd be a riot. And spirited. One hundred percent Grade A inspiration - 'Tura Satana on Screams and Tamborines'.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

There's tons of stuff, cause I like to learn new things - and bring it back to the tunes. Pursue risk and hard work. More travel. Write ideas down. A Book of Beware For Artists: things that can happen "Out There." Be quick, see the signs. Do a film of building something. Answer questions. Do a bizarre workshop. Lots of things. Then come back to do more music - refreshed. And repeat.

Fox of the Week (2/17/10): Kitty Kennedy "Creole China Doll"

Kitty Kennedy (aka Creole China Doll) is a model from Louisiana. She has recently been featured on Stiletto Talk, Titanium Girlz, and Wildly Styley, among others. She discusses her beginnings in modeling, what makes a great photo, and what she hopes to accomplish.

What was your first modeling job? Describe how you felt that day.

Wow, that was over 13 years ago! (laughs) My first modeling job was a JC Penney fashion show. It actually came about by accident. I happened to be shopping in the store when one of the models was told to leave because of her bad attitude. The coordinator of the show stopped me & said “You’re gorgeous, can you walk?” I told him yes, so that’s how I ended up in the show. He gave me $100 afterwards.

What do you think is your best feature?

I believe my best feature is my mind, therefore is not located on the outside. You’d have to ask my fans their opinion on what my best physical attribute is, if that’s the type of answer you were looking for.

Who are some of the models you admire?

In my particular genre of modeling, I only admire myself. But in modeling as a whole, my idol is Iman. I also admire Beverly Johnson, Naomi Sims & Alek Wek.

What sets you apart from other models?

I’m just ME, that’s what makes me different. I’m not trying to keep up with or imitate any of these other ladies. I’m not “the next so-in-so”. I’m Creole China Doll, in a league of my own.

What makes a “Wow” - worthy photo?

My “Wow” worthy photos are captured when I become one with the persona for whatever look I’m portraying.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

Producer DJ Deminion: you must know how music works together

Normally, you would be looking at a feature about an independent music artist. However, this is a music blog, and since I had the opportunity to cover another aspect of the music business, I took it.

DJ Deminion is a producer from Orlando. He discusses: his musical background, the challenges of producing, and what sets him apart as a producer.

You received a music scholarship to Tennessee State University, but found your attention more drawn to producing than playing piano. What drew you more to producing?

I have been playing piano since age five and began taking lessons at seven. I played piano all through elementary school, middle, and high school. I began producing my Freshman or sophomore year in high school and at first it started as a hobby and my aspiration of becoming a concert pianist remained. However I found myself in my room for hours at a time making beats and less time practicing piano whereas in early years of playing piano I loved to practice. When I got to Tennessee State I actually lost my piano scholarship because I didn't want to practice, but all I wanted to do was make beats, and I noticed I had a talent when an artist walked in, put fifty dollars on the table and said if I have a hit he will leave the fifty and if not he will walk right out the door. Not only did I get the fifty I am now his main producer to this day. Nonetheless the good thing about producing is the fact that my piano knowledge transferred to producing because you must know how music works together, whether it be chords or genres of music.

Of what producing job are you most proud so far?

Although I haven't worked with any major artists thus far, I am proud to work with all artists I am currently working with. There are several projects on the table that are all potential hits. I am proud of everyone because I put my soul into everything I put out.

What part of the job is most rewarding? What is most challenging?

The reaction of the intended audience is very rewarding in itself. For instance they played a song that I produced at a big party and everybody went crazy over the song. Another rewarding part of the job is getting the song to reach its maximum potential. The most challenging is constantly making completely original beats time and time again. It is so easy to bite or sample because industry beats sound good but it is always my goal to make something the artist has never heard before, even if I am producing more than one song for that particular artist. No two beats ever sound alike and that is a challenge.

What sets you apart from other music producers?

My tenacity, my self-motivation, my ambition, drive, talent, and gifting in the area of music all set me apart from other producers. Also my unique sound and my versatility in several different genres as opposed to only one. And lastly my professionalism, businesslike mentality, and wisdom overall in the area of music in general.

If someone came to you seeking your advice on becoming a producer, what would you tell that person?

I would tell that person first and foremost learn to play an instrument; piano would be the best. And just keep making beats. Constantly perfect your craft and be consistent, patient and you will reach your goal in due time.

What would you be doing if you weren't involved in music?

Well actually I will be doing something in addition to producing in the near future. I plan to become an artist manager because I love helping artists get to where they need to be. I know how to motivate artists and I am learning more and more about the business aspect over time so I can expand to reach my maximum potential in both areas.

Honey is an 18-year-old half-Filipina model with SoCal Glamour Girls. She discusses her best feature, models she admires, and her dream photoshoot location.

How did you get started modeling?

I started runway modeling with my twin sister back when I was very young. Now that I've turned 18, I kind of want to do my own thing. So I started a little go-go dancing and started building my modeling portfolio doing photoshoots. Now I'm here with SoCal Glamour Girls and I love it!

What would you say is your best feature?

I could say my butt, or lips, or something outrageously sexy, but I actually have to go with my eyes. I love them and I think that's what gives me my exotic look!

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I love me some Naomi Campbell and Chanel Iman. They are both black/Asian, super sexy, and super successful! They both had this fire burning to be the best and now like a wildfire, they are unstoppable! I also look up to them cause it's hard for multiracial people to get somewhere in life, especially to be successful. So it's kind of like, when one makes it...I feel like I did too in a way!

What is your dream location for a photoshoot? Why?

I've done shoots in living rooms, outside with tuners, on farms, in studios. But I would really like to do it at the beach, and not just any beach but in the Philippines! I'm half Filipina and it's sad how my mom's family never had a chance to really see how beautiful me and my twin have gotten to be. So if I could do a shoot out there on the beach with a few Filipinos in the background with the Philippine flag, that'll be amazing!

You say you like funny guys. What can a guy do to make you laugh?

That's a really good question, mainly cause I laugh at everything! I would like to find a charming, but CLUMSY guy. I'm probably the clumsiest model you've ever seen, so for once instead of a boy laughing at me, it'll be nice to laugh a little at someone else.

What is one goal you want to accomplish?

I don't really want to be rich, but I'd love to be known nationally for something good. Maybe combining fashion and music for a charitable cause.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

Joan Jett. I think it would be a lot of fun. She has a knack of keeping a song simple, but making it super fun and catchy. I think that is how I write too. You don't have to be Dave Murray (Iron Maiden) to play a Joan Jett or Ghouls Night Out song. You know? I think this woman is super neat... although I would probably be a little frightened to meet her. But if my shyness wasn't an issue, I think it would be a blast.

If you could have a beer and a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

June Carter Cash. This woman is amazing. She is the great woman behind Johnny and gave him love, support and strength. She grew up in a musical family and has seen a lot of things. She knows the music business, and knows what it means to go on tour. An more importantly... she knows what it means to go on tour with a bunch of guys. hehehe. She really lived life. I love her voice and the songs she wrote. It would be cool to have her explain songs that she wrote.

What can I expect at any Ghouls Night Out show?

Well we try to put on a "show". So playing to the crowd is more important than proficiency. So I have to admit, we aren't the tightest band you'll ever see live. But we are more into having fun and raising the energy leveI in the room. I jump up and down, stomp and shimmy a lot. Vampie usually swings her hips... if she's drunk enough, she'll talk nonsense and make you laugh. Lily is back there banging away on the drums. If she drops a stick or something she swears at her drums. We have a lot of fun just playing.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Hmmm I can't think of my life without making music. This a very difficult question. Well other than music, I like to design, cook and volunteer at my local animal shelter. I'm also a health and fitness geek so I'm always reading about how to improve my health, going to yoga or step class.

Fox of the Week (2/3/10): Emanon

Emanon is a model from Chicago who has appeared in television shows and films. She discusses how she got started, her best feature, and models she admires.

How did you get started modeling?

Plus Modeling is an area that has gone unrecognized for a while, but the light is shining brighter each season. I entered a PP pageant in 2005 on a dare. Once I arrived to the competition, I quickly learned that the first P in PP meant Petite (I'm 6'0") so needless to say I was disqualified from the pageant but allowed to participate in the other part of the competition. I won "Most Photogenic" and it kind of started me on my journey.

What would you say is your best feature? Why?
I love Me! (laughs) My face because people always tell me "your skin is flawless, I would kill for your skin" So I hope to one day represent a makeup or skin care line. I take good care of my face I keep in it looking "flawless" by drinking lots of water, wearing sunscreen year round and I NEVER sleep in make-up not even for a nap.

How do people underestimate or misjudge you?
I have a passion for LIFE so I tend to act silly and just live in the moment so some people may underestimate my ability or my professionalism and sleep on what I could bring to the table. Ultimately they miss out.

You have appeared in some films. Who is one person in film you would love to work with? Why?

I have always been an extra in the movies, I would love to work with any powerful producers that are willing to give me a chance with a speaking part. (laughs)

Who are some models you admire?

I love Tyra, Naomi, Iman, and Twiggy, but I admire the girls who look like me: Mia Ambers, Marquita Pring and all the models that represented in the Glamour and V magazine size issues. I hope to see many more including myself.

What is one goal you feel you must accomplish?

There are so many things that have not been done in the Plus world, I just hope to be a part of the ride. We will see!

The Nico Blues is a band from New York that is proud of its DIY approach to making music. The members of the band discuss the creative process, bands they would like to play with, and how they would occupy themselves if they weren't making music.

5 guys who have a serious appreciation for music, and want to create fresh, exciting songs for music fans.

Take us inside the creative process. Give an example of how a Nico Blues tune might come together.

This happens a number of ways. Eric or Evan may come to the band with a song on guitar and a vocal melody, and then we build layers onto that. Other songs come entirely out of jams, often remaining very close to their original form when they're first jammed out. The reason our songs hit on such a range of different styles is because they are never written the same way twice.

What can we expect from the upcoming album?

It's a huge step forward. We're more competent engineers/producers/mixers now, so without regard to the music, it will just sound better. About the songwriting, it's more varied than ever. There are folk songs, post-hardcore songs, alternative rock songs, and some that lack a description entirely. We've embraced alot dirtier distortion this time around, and modeled our guitars after bands like Dinosaur Jr and other indie pioneers. Overall, it's just exciting. 9 new songs, and we promise that we never repeat ourselves.

If you could have a beer and a conversation about music with anyone, who would it be? Why?

Evan: John Frusciante, though he doesn't drink. He has a great sense of what music is about.
Reed: Craig Finn of the Hold Steady. He is the smartest frontman of our generation, and has so much to say.
Skylar: A normal dude at one of our shows. Maybe he'll have something cool to tell me.
Eric: Jack White, I want to hear about what music he's listening to.

Describe how you felt at your first photoshoot.

My first shoot was interesting to say the least. I have never considered myself photogenic so it was a challenge for me. I needed alot of direction and coaching. Fortunately enought my boss is awesome and very patient. So she intially had to teach me how to take a picture. Plus I had one too many drinks to "help me relax" and by the end of the shoot I was hammered. That and it was hilarious because I am a bit of a squinter so Kat kept telling me to open my eyes and for some reason I was opening up my mouth. No idea what was going through my head at the time but it was an entertaining story.

What makes a great photoshoot? What makes a great photo?

What really makes a photo shoot is a fun, comfortable setting. It really helps to work with people that you trust in various forms of undress. There are times that we walk around semi-nude or completely nude. I just did a shoot the other day for our show The Bitch'in Kitchen where I was pretty much naked and up on the counter with various kitchen ingredients covering essential areas. Sounds kinda awkward but it really wasn't we were laughing and giggling the whole time. Most important though would be to have good direction and a talented photographer. That makes a model's job much easier. As far as what makes a good picture: a fun outfit and setting help, and just feeling pretty. I love to get my hair and makeup done it is a great pick-me-up.

What is your ideal photoshoot location? Why?

I really wan to go to a tropical location to shoot. I know it may be a little cliche but when you think about it where better to be than under the warm sun with a slight breeze by the ocean. That sound like an amazing place to work to me! We have some SoCal Glamour Girl trips that are in the works for 2010 and I can't hardly wait. I have a passport with no stamps in it and I think that needs to be fixed.

You describe yourself as a bookworm. What sort of books do you like to read?

Well lately I have been really into vampires. I loved the True Blood series and of course Twilight. Go Team Edward! I have even gotten my own fangs! I was never really in to vamps before but I find it really sexy and a little dangerous, the craze has definetly got my full attention. Before I got in to that my favorite series was called The Outlander. It's this amazing story about a woman that is transported back in time through a stone circle in Scotland. She falls in love with a Scottish warrior at a very turbulent time in history. The story is cool because although the idea is based on fiction the history is correct to the tee. I would highly suggest it.

What is something about you that surprises people?

Well when I meet people initially they think that I am very sweet and innocent, Don't drink don't smoke you know that sort of thing. What surprises them is that I am a little wild and sometimes prety rough. I have a bit of a biting fetish, which is probably why the vampire thing appeals to me. As well I enjoy to play a little rough in the bedroom. There have been times where flat out I want to cause some damage bite marks, bruises, hair pulling scratches. My man has told me at times that I need to be gentle.

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

In general I just want to enjoy my life. There are so many things that people get hung up on, my self included. But I just try to let it go, life is too short to be angry all the time. I just want to experience all that life has to offer. That is really what got me into modeling. I got the opportunity and I jumped at it, and I have to say that it was the best decision that I have made recently. I love what I do, I sometimes think damn I get paid to do this.

The Salty Dogs release Brand New Reason this week

I think you completed the sentence - The Salty Dogs is. I guess according to a former authority, it depends on how you define the word "is". (laughs)

You've shared the stage with some very popular performers. What does it mean to you to have those opportunities?

Of course, it means to be seen and heard by a different crowd and that to me is the coolest thing. Don't get me wrong, it's always an honor to play with whomever, but having a person coming up and telling you that they didn't know you from Adam and really liked you means something.

What have you learned from playing with those performers?

Probably that they are human and in most cases success didn't happen over night. Music is a repetitive skill that they have honed on the road. The good ones don't reflect the calloused repetition in the perfomance. That's the booger of it all. The Gourds are one of those bands that I respect. They tour a lot and still maintain great music and great shows.

Who would you like to perform with, but haven't had the opportunity yet?

Oh, I don't know. I never think about that stuff. Maybe Billy Joe Shaver.

If you could have a beer and a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

First of all, I don't drink beer. Never have. Sorry. Maybe Merle Haggard or Levon Helm. Merle is the Energizer Bunny and his voice and music is so pure to me. I imagine that he would be a wealth of knowledge and have some great stories. Levon to me is in the top 5 people who just exude cool. Levon right in there with Elvis for me. Great voice, great drummer and a great band AND he is from Arkansas.

Tell us a bit about the new album.

The new album, Brand New Reason, will be released on Max Recordings on January 26, 2010. I think the album really captures what The Salty Dogs are really about. The album was recorded and engineered by Will Boyd (American Princes) back in May 2009. You'll hear some feel good tunes, swing tunes and some in between. We are excited about it and can't wait for you to hear it.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Not doing interviews like this.

KreepS: We don't fit into a specific category

KreepS is a band that you just have to hear. It is one part surf, soul, lounge. You get the idea. This is a band that covers the bases musically. Dom Kreep discusses where KreepS music is filed, who he'd like to share a bill with, and what he would be doing if he weren't making music.

Where do you file your music in a record store?

This is a tough one - record stores seem to put us in different places all the time. Our records have been in most sections from electroclash to Punk to straight up vanilla Indie. Nobody seems to really know what it is - but I guess we didn't start making music to fit into a specific category. Most of the bands we really like seem to make all sorts of kinds of music which I guess is pretty natural. I think it's a shame - it seems that alot of people need to feel like a band is one thing in order to accept it.

What is essential to every Kreeps song?

Grit. I'm not exactly sure in which forms but in everything we've done there is definitely audible grit. It could be from the kinds of instruments we use or maybe the rooms we use or maybe even the mics or boards - I'm not sure where it comes from and it's hard to define. I like things that sound like they're broke so maybe that's it. In fact some our stuff is just plain broke. We've never used anything new to record anything. Or even expensive. We're mostly held together by tape.

Why should I have your music in my collection?

People should have something dirtier in their life. Y'know - for the balance.

If you can have a beer and a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

Probably somebody like David Lynch. He's someone who puts as much effort into the sounds and music in his films as he does the cinematography and I love when audio and visual media work that well together. I'm not really talking about music videos. Hes somebody that can really make sound work in extraordinary ways - like that abstract way music can make you feel. Things you can't quite put your finger on.

You get to share a bill with three other bands (active or defunct). Who do you get to fill out the bill with you?

Sleepy Eyes Of Death, DFA 1979 and My Bloody Valentine.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Who knows? Shining shoes - holding up a bar somewhere - teaching origami - I can't imagine not making music so it's tough to see where other paths might take me. There'll always be something to get a sound out of.

You have 9 tattoos. Which one is your favorite? Where is it located?

Yes I have 9 tats and honestly I love them all but of course I have my favorites! If I had to choose I would say that my favorite tattoo is my half sleeve located on my left arm. I love its beauty. The bright colors are amazing and always stand out but aside from its physical beauty it holds a lot of beauty within its meaning to me. It empowers a lot of who I am, stands for what I believe in, and reminds me of things I have been through.

You say you're not the girl next door but a bad girl. What's something bad you've done that surprises people?

I have been known to say I am a bad girl and c'mon now do I look like your girl next door! [laughs] My usual saying is that "I am not your girl next door but that bitch down the street"! I have my naughty side that is for sure but deep down I am a very down-to-earth loving person who is typically very sweet but push me and that bitch comes out! [laughs] To be honest my list of bad things I have done is not to impressive. Sure I shoplifted as a kid and stirred up trouble in my younger days but for the most part I stay out of trouble [laughs], for the most part. My list of naughty is much more impressive! However something bad I have done that would probably surprise people is... well if I gave away my secrets then nothing will ever surprise them ever again. I will leave that one up to all of your imaginations. [laughs] This should be interesting! Hmmm this could be a fun game - guess what bad things Natasha has done! What do you think? Plus if I gave away my bad side then people would know what to expect from me and I like to be unpredictable!

You like trucks, dirt bikes and sports like MMA and football. Do you get a lot of marriage propositions?

I love trucks the bigger the better. Love dirt bikes especially loud powerful ones, and I have a major love for sports especially MMA and football! I am a huge football fan I go all out when I watch games and I am in NO WAY like some girls who just watch it to look cute and get guys. Hell no! I understand it and I want to watch it! Go Chargers and Goooo Giants! UFC is a definite love for me. It's just so exciting to watch honestly I would love to be in the UFC as a fighter! I have always been a bit of a tomboy as a kid I always played with the boys and always loved getting dirty eh I guess not much has changed cuz I still play with the boys and keep up with them and I am always ready to get dirty! I am definitely that girl that would rather turn on the game then watch soaps and I am not the chick flick kinda girl either. I love my action movies: the more action the better - gore included! An awesome date for me would be going to a football game, dirt biking, watching a fight. You get the idea! Most guys would tell you I am the perfect chick and I have been known to get along better with guys as apposed to girls maybe that's cuz there is a major lack of drama! However I will have to say that I have not gotten one serious marriage proposal. But I did say serious ones. [laughs] I have gotten many guys who say "Oh my God! Marry me please!"

What is the best thing about working with SoCal Glamour Girls?

I started working with the Socal girls almost a year ago! I have had a blast! Working with them is awesome, in fact you cannot really call it work! I mean c'mon do you really think hanging with sexy girls taking sexy pics and doing super hot vids is work? No way! It's fun! Hmmm the best part of working with them would have to be the "No Drama rule at the studio"! Just teasing! The best part about working with the SoCalGlamourGirls is being part of such a loving & fun community, and getting to meet so many amazing people including hot girls! [laughs] SoCalGlamourGirls team is the best team of great people!

If you could do a photo shoot anywhere, what location would you choose?

I could pick so many awesome places! Now I may have to answer this one in two ways! My guy side that loves to get dirty would have to say that an awesome place for a photo shoot would be in the middle of a beautiful desert with my dirt bike as my prop or a football field in the mud! Now my more girlie side would say that an awesome location of a shoot would be on sum isolated private island where its me and the beautiful ocean and white sand. Isn't that every girls dream?

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

Well I have several goals but since your asking about one I will give you one. One goal that I would like to accomplish, wait let me rephrase that...I will accomplish is to get my degree in nursing and become a registered nurse working in a hospital & of course, continue to work on my modeling career.

The Barbarellatones: campy and hypnotic

The Barbarellatones is a band from Malibu that I first heard on Radio Free Bakersfield. Robbie Quine discusses the band's music, and who is his ideal choice to write and record a song with.

Describe your sound for someone who has never heard the band.

I consider The Barbarellatones to be a Neo-Glam band, even though we have some Gothabilly, Surf and Psychedelic overtones. Some call us 'sleaze-rock', but that is only half the story! To me the main vein of the music is Glam or Glitter Rock with a twist, very campy but also hypnotic. I love B-Movies, especially the really bad ones! A lot of the songs lean towards that direction, but I am not afraid to be transparent and bare my soul either. I write dark ballads a lot too.

What is essential to every Barbarellatones song?

I love a retro surf guitar...I am a surfer and I also love Sitars, so will often incorporate that into a song if it feels right. A lot of our songs are kinda dark but playful, a weird combination. Kind of Warhol-ish? Songs about drag-queens and zombies, strung-out surfers, semi-autobiograpical! I was also in Sex With Lurch, a similar gothabilly-ish band. Inspired by Rocky Horror for sure.

If there is an afterlife and you are in the house band, who do you get to fill out the band?

Mick Ronson on guitar, definately! Maybe Johnny Thunders too...Marc Bolan, it would be super-Glam!

If you could write and record a song with any artist, who would it be? Why?

That's an easy one...BOWIE. I love that guy. I've always loved his dark crooning in Diamond Dogs, just beautiful. I would want him to produce also...Bowie's albums with Lou Reed and Iggy are fantastic.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I used to teach surfing lessons in Maui to tourists...that was a very fun job. I would love to do an 'endless summer' trip at some point in my life, and go to Indonesia, Bali, South Africa, Peru, Fiji...all over the world and surf warm-water waves with no time restraints. That would be heavenly!

What would you say is your best feature?

I always say it, but my legs and lips!

How do people underestimate or misjudge you?

I believe I am more misjudged than underestimated. Some people may think I'm stuck up or characterize me as a typical "Video Girl"! There is nothing wrong with doing music videos but I am far from a model simply posing for the camera. I am using modeling as a stepping stone into the entertainment industry! Personally, modeling is not the end-all be-all! I have greater aspirations.

Who are some models you admire? Why?

I have great admiration for Tyra Banks. She utilized modeling as a platform to easily obtain her dream of having her talkshow and syndication. Truth be told, she is her own empire! She definitely inspires me!

Of what accomplishment thus far are you most proud?

I am definitely proud of all my published work, but I would have to say one of my biggest accomplishments to date is doing a VH1 commercial with Grammy-nominated actor/comedian Tracy Morgan.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

In the future I am hoping to become a household name and establish a legacy in TV/radio as a successful personality with a thriving media company E. Adjah Media Group!

The Pornostuntman: getting some is usually the theme of my songs

This week Fox Tracks continues to span the globe to bring you the best in independent music. The Pornostuntman is a music artist from Bern, Switzerland. He describes his sound, his approach to music and his ideal live bill.

Describe your sound for someone who has never heard The Pornostuntman.

Geez, 'slightly retarded' first comes to mind. But if you'd throw a metal shopping basket on wheels filled with pots and pans down an escalator that's going up at the same time a 747 jumbo jet is crashing into the building next door then you'd be getting close to what I think my music sounds like.

What is essential to every Pornostuntman song?

I've been a manic fan of 60's garage punk music for 25 years, so that era is my main influence for a songwriting blueprint. Lots of fuzzy distorted guitars, a simple yet sexy primitive driving Rock N Roll drum beat, some groovy organ and bass lines and some snotty 1966 wanna-be Mick Jagger vocals. My lyrics are sexually suggestive, so the hopeful possibility of 'getting some' is usually the theme of my songs. Most people love to get laid so I figure if you're gonna have to listen to some guy screaming at you then someone might as well be 'getting some' at some point in the song.

What is essential to every Pornostuntman show?

I had my one and only Pornostuntman show in 1996 and I never returned to the stage ever again. Since 1984 I've had heaps of bands but never really brought these songs into the clubs. I counted sometime last year and I have about 150 songs I've recorded, one way or another, as The Pornostuntman. I've kept this recording project a secret to a degree and I never released anything. I've attempted to put bands together playing Pornostuntman songs but it just never sounds right. In the past I recorded lots of my 'drums' on cardboard boxes and bed pans and it never could translate properly when it was played with a proper drum set.
Personally, I gave up on seriously selling records years ago since the style of music I like to write and play didn't even sell many records in the 60's at its peak. I enjoy having a recording project that I'm the boss of and I love that I don't answer to any record label dudes telling me what they think is hip or would sell more records. I just make tapes, CDs and MP3s for friends that know me and never ever sent a single package to any record label.

If you're putting a bill together with three other bands (active or defunct), who do you get to share the stage with you?

Well, it would have to be something like The Pornostuntman opening for The 13th Floor Elevators and CAN since I never had the honor of seeing either one of those groups play live in any incarnation and both groups are my faves.
I've been very lucky to have shared the stage with lots of my heroes at one point or another and for that I'm really proud of my musical achievements so far. I've performed in clubs with 60's legends like The Pretty Things, Love, The Monks, Sky Saxon to name a few and 80's acts like Mudhoney, The Fuzztones, The Lyres, Jane's Addiction, L7 and loads loads more in the 90's and 2000s, too many to mention here.

If you could write and record a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

It would have to be with Roky Erickson from the 13th Floor Elevators. He's got a knack for writing little Buddy Holly styled tunes and his voice just melts my mind. I'm sure we could come up with an 'A Two Headed Alien Took My Girlfriend Away' kinda song in an afternoon.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Well, my life revolves around music so it's not just making music that's important, it's the lifestyle I've created around it. I started my first band in 1984 and that's really when my life took off. I got into collecting vintage guitars, fuzzboxes, amplifiers and 60's vinyl records. Afterward I was sure what kind of music I wanted to make. So I had some music gear and some friends to play with but we needed gigs. I made some graphic art for a business card to get us some gigs and then some flyers to promote them, so I dove into learning about Rock And Roll graphics. That process introduced me to the offset printing world, so naturally I dove deeper in and became an offset printer. I needed posters and t-shirts printed so I jumped trades and became an silkscreen printer. My bands got signed to different labels so I started recording and making LPs, and eventually CDs, so I learned how to make product packaging and the essentials to the recording arts. To this day I still work as a Rock graphic artist and still have both hands in the printing trade and have released over 20 albums in the process. And somehow my hardheadedness kept it all focused on my music scene. That's why I eventually made Panti-Christ as it combines everything all into one huge all encompassing sexy Rock And Roll project. The Pornostuntman is merely an escape for me away from all the other music 'jobs' that could, should and need to get done.

How did you get started modeling?

I started modeling in 2005, I went to an E’Lon Cosmetics fashion show casting just to see what it would be like and ended up being asked to do the show. The adrenaline rush I got from being on the runway made me want to do it more. I’ve been modeling ever since.

Describe how you felt at your first photoshoot?

My first photo shoot I was nervous, and I still get nervous at EVERY photo shoot. I know what I WANT to look like in my pictures but ensuring that I come off that way makes me nervous. I’ve only been doing print work since the beginning of 09 so I still have a lot to learn.

What would you say is your best feature?

My best feature is probably my smile. [laughs] You don’t get to see it often in my pictures but I have a Kool-Aid smile. I’ve been told my eyes have an effect about them but I don’t see it. [laughs]

What is your ideal photoshoot location? Why?

I don’t have an ideal location. I love to shoot in different places, and as long as we can have fun on set while being professional that is all that matters to me.

Who are some models you admire?

I admire Heidi Klum because she knows how to work a runway but she has the girl next door personality, which a lot of models do not possess. I also admire Vanessa Veasley (Show Magazine editor) she has done a lot of different types of modeling but is most known for her Urban Glamour. I admire her because she can model and she knows how to handle the business side to modeling. I think sometimes as models people forget that the more you know about the “industry” the more beneficial it will be for your own personal growth.

What is the most rewarding part of modeling?

The most rewarding part has to be when people ask you how you got started and do you have any advice for them. There is no real point in being in the “spotlight” if you don’t plan on using it to help others. Whether it be with modeling or just talking with them to lead them to their own passion. Sometimes people just need encouragement from others.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

One goal I would like to accomplish…..My long term goal is to own a modeling agency. I love to use my experiences to help other models. Modeling is fun but there is an education behind it and I think we overlook that at times. Anything you want to do with your life you have to invest time and money into it.

Describe your style for someone who has never heard your music.

I'm Hip-Rop: Hip-hop, Rock, and Pop. And I'm not done absorbing styles. I wanna create a new genre and I won't cease till I do.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would it be? Why?

Charles Hamilton. I relate with him the most He's like me in music and real life.

If you were going to perform one show with a full band, who would you get to be in your band?

Breaking Benjamin, Charles Hamilton, and Ladi Mahogany Da Foxx. Why Ladi Mahogany? Cuz Once she gets the peak of modeling she gonna record with me (she don't know yet).

What sets you apart from other rap/hip-hop guys?

I'm passive aggression. I put my heart in it all and in everything I spit, sing, or write, I'm real. Hip-hop is missing its REAL. So let's switch it up.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

If I wasn't I wouldn't do anything. Music is my passion. Without that vibe I can't exist. I'm hungry.

Im 5'4 and a mix of Cherokee, Powhatan, and Mulatto. My measurements are 32BC-24-37, Im based out of Virginia but I travel out of state often. Ive been featured on 30 men's interest, automotive, and modeling websites since 2007. I work the import and domestic car show circuit and have worked with names such as HIN, NOPI, and Funkmaster Flex. I do bikini competitions, host, go-go, spokesmodel, just about everything in the modeling realm. On weekends I do most of my traveling for gigs but on weekdays I work a 9-5 and am enrolled in college part-time pursuing a degree in graphic design/fine art.

Describe your first photoshoot.

My first photoshoot was an on location shoot at a car show. It was alot of fun, We brought a lot of traffic to the booth I was working, we had a lot of fun and got some great shots!

What do you think is your best feature? Why?

My best features are my mini curves. I'm petite but curvy.

What would you say is the most difficult part of modeling?

Finding people who are legit and serious to work with, the industry is overrun by scammers, cons, and creeps.

What is the most rewarding?

Finding people who are equally serious and driven to work with!

You have a lot of features on your resume. Of which one are you most proud?

That's a hard question, I definitely can't pick one. I am grateful for every feature because those companies and people took the time to see my potential and that I take my career seriously and am trying to bring my dream to life. At the end of the day that means the most to me. Every litte bit helps.

If you could do a photoshoot anywhere, what location would you choose? Why?

Hawaii, on one of its famous black sand beaches. I've only seen them on TV or in music videos. They're beautiful. Who wouldnt like to see a beautiful woman rolling around in the waves and exotic black sand? That would be the sexiest shoot ever!

What is one goal you feel you must accomplish?

I must break into mainstream modeling. I've been just on the cusp for a while now and I'm working overtime to contact or be noticed by the right people who can help me take my career further.

What would you say is your best feature?

I would say my best feature would be between my smile and smooth sexy legs. I've always been complimented on my smile and if you know me well enough you would know that I'm smiling most of the time. I personally feel that my legs are my best feature because the natural observation is from bottom to top and back. My legs are the type that when you see them, it is hard to resist touching. Any girl can just show their ass for attention, but my legs are what make you want to keep looking.

Of what accomplishment are you most proud?

At the moment I think I'm most proud of my work with First Love Dynasty Girls website. Although it is fairly new site coming into the game, I feel it has the potential to be very successful Eye Candy site as well as provide an opportunity for upcoming models. I'm a major visual on the site, between being the splash on most pages to the face you will see on the navigation icons. It is a great site and I take pride in the fact that they chose me to be the major face of their brand. The entire site will be up end of December/early January 2010, so be sure to check me out there and some other hot models!

What makes a great photograph? What makes a great photo shoot?

A great photograph, to me, is one that can evoke strong emotion and draws people in. It can paint a vivid story to the viewer and creates a connection. The best photos I've ever seen were ones that kept me wondering about what was going on when the shutter snapped.

A great photo shoot is the collaboration between an open mind and just pure creativity. Some of my best shoots were the result of a spur of the moment idea and going with it. I feel that the success of a photo shoot doesn't just fall upon the qualifications of the photographer, but the dynamics of the talent as well.

If you could do a photo shoot anywhere, what location would you choose? Why?

I think I would choose somewhere in Jamaica or the Bahamas. Coming from a Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, the tropical atmosphere is home to me and where I feel I would be most in tune with my creative side. I would also just love the opportunity to travel to either of these beautiful sets of islands and b e captured along with the natural wonders these lands posses. I most desire having a shoot set under a waterfall or just near it.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

I hope to make a name for myself in this modeling industry not only for my looks, but also for one day the opportunities I will try to create for other girls who started out just like myself. I'm not high fashion industry standard in height and I don't have the classic glamour model look entirely. My girl next-door look sometimes gets me passed over in one realm and being only 5'7" makes it harder for runway. I've always looked up to Tyra Banks for how much she has given back to aspiring models and if I could accomplish even a fraction of what she has then I'd feel fulfilled.

Describe how you felt at your first modeling gig.

My first modeling gig was actually a LOT of fun! I was really nervous at first, but once I let go it just kinda flowed. It wasn't anything sexy, if you can believe that, but it was a GREAT start. Ever since then I knew absolutely that modeling was what I was born to do and I LOVE it!

What about modeling is the most rewarding? The most challenging?

Modeling is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done! Not only does it make me feel extremely sexy and super confident about myself when I do a shoot and see the pictures and just think "Wow! That's really me!" but knowing that somewhere there could be another girl looking at those pictures hoping she can be just like me! It's also a great pick-me-up! When I'm having a bad week, I always try to schedule a shoot ASAP! Like I said, it totally boosts my self-confidence, but it also relaxes me because I love modeling so much!
It can be challenging at times too though. I've had to learn so many new skills since I began modeling. I've learned how to put together outfits, and do my own makeup and my own hair sometimes too! It gets rough when there is a lot of traveling involved; I always worry that I've forgetten something. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Though I also always worry about getting lost! This one time I had to drive to L.A. and the photographer gave me bad directions, and then yelled at me for being late!

What is the best part about working for SoCal Glamour Girls?

Not only do I have the hottest boss ever, but I also have the best coworkers! We always have SO much fun and get super crazy when we all get together for our Wednesday and Saturday night parties. But aside from the parties and fun we're a family. I’ve been able to get so close to many of the girls, and it truly does feels like a family. Even when we fight, we end up coming out of it loving each other (the makeup sex is GREAT!).
We’re also a community, where I get to interact with the sweetest guys ever! My fans always brighten up my day when I wake up, check my tweets and I have a bunch sitting in my inbox saying “luv u Nev” or “Ur the best sweetie!” To me, the fan appreciation is the greatest thing ever! Plus I feel like we are completely unique not only because our girls are the hottest, but we’re the most fun, the goofiest, the nicest and all-around best (naughty) girls on the web!

If you could do a photoshoot anywhere, what location would you choose? Why?

I would have to say I can't choose just ONE location! I want to shoot all over the place! I love to travel even though it can be stressful! I want to shoot in Hawaii someday on their beautiful beaches since well, its Hawaii, and who wouldn't want to go? I've always wanted to shoot in London, I love their fashion and if I could have a stylist dress me up, I would be in HEAVEN! The streets of London tend to be pretty dark and muggy but so full of life! I've been there quite a few times, but never since I've been modeling, so I think it's time to start saving up for a trip! Yay! Another place I would love to go shoot is in New York! The parks are just gorgeous and there is so much history, I would be tempted to spent more time sight seeing than shooting! [laughs] I'm planning on a trip there in the spring hopefully!

What is one goal you hope to accomplish?

My one biggest dream and goal to accomplish is to be a Victoria's Secret runway model! I've always loved their cute and sexy undies and would just be absolutely happy with life if I could accomplish that! All their models are so sexy and unique I just wish I could be like that. My biggest role model is actually Gisele Bündchen. You can see her on covers of many top fashion magazines including W, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and Allure, as well as international editions of Vogue and many more, including more than 500 other magazine covers world-wide!! She is an amazing person, and I hope I can be a role model for another girl like she is for me.

Birmingham rap/hip-hop artist ROME: I need music to get me through life

ROME is a rap/hip-hop artist from Birmingham, and the CEO of Dynasty Enterprise Music Group. He discusses his writing, his flow, and who he would want to perform with if he formed a hip-hop supergroup.

How did you get started in rap and hip-hop?

When I was 12 I started dibbing & dabbing in music. Mainly on the production side. At that time I was more intrigued by the behind the scenes work because it fit my personality more. I still wrote a lot but didn't really understand the basics of making music. After high school, when I saw that the hood hoop dreams wasn't gonna be a reality, I had to make a decision. Either back to my old lifestyle or figure out a way to make any of my dreams a reality and music was always something I felt I was very good at aside from playing ball. At 18 I co-founded the label Dynasty Enterprise Music Group LLC with my friend Junior Houser and we've been grinding and establishing our brand ever since.

Describe your style for someone who has never heard your music.

Well throughout the past 5 years I went through a lot of styles. As you grow and mature as a person so does your music as an artist. It took me years to REALLY find my sound and style and the direction I wanted to go in as far as being a rap artist. I had to get comfortable and secure with what I do and what seperates me from others. I've never been a punchline "ooh" and "aah" rapper. I commend those who are because in some ways they keep the listener's ear but my main thing is metaphors and clever wordplay. Recently I've been digging deeper than the surface for inspiration to make music. Before, you could consider my style as hardcore southern music. Now I don't feel anyone can put me in a box or circle. After rapping/hearing the same topics/approaches for years, you start to miss the music that made you fall in love with music and that's the direction I had to go with my music. One thing that can't be mistaken and will always be remembered is the flow is 2ND TO NONE!

What inspires you to write?

When I 1st started writing as a kid, I had just jumped off the porch so I was fascinated with the street life. Early off in my career I used to write about things I saw and did, or what everybody else was rapping about that was listening to. After going through things in life that makes you look at life itself in a different light, then it doesn't feel right speaking about the same things anymore when there's more going on than those limited subjects or concepts. When I stopped rushing and writing music and I started letting it come to me when I feel it and stopped writing, I started to speak about what I felt and not so much what I've done or saw. And I needed music to get me through life and certain situations and I couldn't find any that hit me in my stomach so I had to start making that my forte. I got memory like an elephant so I've got 24 years of life experiences that I can revisit at any moment.

If you could write and perform a song with any one music artist, who would it be? Why?

If he was living Pac of course! He raised me along with No Limit, Face, Outkast, etc. His words got me through and still do to this day so that would be interesting to see. On stage his energy was phenomenal so that definitely woulda been one for the books.

If you are putting together an all-star band/group who do you get to join your band/group?

Well dayuum! That's the Wu ain't it? [Laughs]. Nah but I would say myself, Em, Tip, Dre, Face, my man POS and another me!

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I can't even pretend about not making music. IT'S ALL OR NOTHIN!

You're a big football fan. Who is your team? Take us through a typical Sunday watching football.

My favorite team is San Diego Chargers!!! Go Bolts!! [laughs] OK, so I get up on a Sunday, go to church with my #85 (Antonio Gates) jersey on. Then, I put whatever game is on at that moment on the TV. I love football so I watch all the NFL games that I can. I will then pick the team that I want to win, usually the team that I know will help the Chargers out. For example, when the Denver Broncos played the Washington Redskins, like a few weeks ago, I cheered for the Redskins because I know that the Broncos are in the same division as the Chargers. Who are some models you admire? Why?

I mostly admire actors. I am an aspiring actress. I admire Sandra Bullock. I love all her movies that she is in. She can play any role, and I love her on camera attitude. She always has a smile on.

What is one goal you feel you must accomplish in your career?

I feel that I must accomplish one thing at least and that is to be recognized for my work as an actress. I love being onset, the camera on me, and getting to be someone else. I hope that one day I will be recognized on film for a movie, or TV show. I hope I can inspire someone as I have been inspired.

What is essential to every Jehosaphat Blow song?

I usually mention shaking something, i.e., hips, bacon etc., getting drunk, some euphemism for fucking, but I'd say what is really essential is being as unlike Coldplay as is humanly possible. Which isn't hard if you are human.

Why should I have your music in my collection?

Multiple choice:
a) It smells nice.
b) You have no bands starting with J on your i-pod. (Jethro Tull doesn't count. They are Muppets.)
c) You never want to have sex with a person ever again.
d) I am the coolest garage-punk-like rocker in China.

If there is such a thing as an afterlife and you get to be in the house band, who do you recruit to fill out the band?

Animal from the Muppets on drums. Is Meat Loaf dead yet? He could be the drums. How about Chico Marx on piano? And bass, either Charles Mingus or the bass player for Kajagoogoo.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?

I think Prince would be a good choice because he seems very obsessive-compulsive. He would do everything. You know, composed, produced, performed and arranged by Prince and all that jerking off of the ego thing. So, I could just sit there and drink beer while he masturbated musically all over the place and got everything perfect while wearing Cuban heels and ruffles. Then, you know, I stand up, strum a chord, and fart. He turns it into a funk opera.
Also, I could wear all purple for once and no one would laugh at me, and since he is kind of a wee lad (that's short in Irish) he would make my music seem taller.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I'd probably cure cancer or be in porn. It's a toss-up.

Fox of the Week [11/26] Allie Fennell

Allie Fennell is a model from Atlanta (clearly a hotbed for models in general and Fox Tracks models specifically). She is currently studying medicine and dreams of becoming a plastic surgeon. She discusses her start in modeling, her dream location, and what she hopes to accomplish.

How did you get started in modeling?

I started modeling in 2008 when I worked at Hooters of America. I started with Hooters swimsuit competitions and Hooters Calendar shoots. Shortly after I started urban modeling and promotional modeling. I have done promotional work for companies like Heineken and Coke Zero. I have also done a couple of movies.

What do you think is your best feature?

My best feature are my eyes and my lips. My body is perfect and my face just seals the deal. My lips and eyes are very unique. I look young and innocent but I can be sexy at the same time.

How do you think people underestimate or misjudge you?

I honestly feel like models today are underestimated period! I think people only see models as the "video chick" and they don't think we can broaden our horizons. Personally it all depends on the model and what she is trying to do with her career. I am willing to do commercial modeling and videos,but some models only want to excel in one area. I wanna be best all around!

If you could do a photoshoot in any location, where would you choose? Why?

I would do a photoshoot in Puerto Rico. I think that the scenery of the island is wonderful. The beaches, rain forest, and villages are gorgeous and I would kill it.

Who are some models you admire?

Rosa Ascota and Erica Mena, I admire these two ladies because they are of Latin decent and I am too. They are very beautiful women and I am proud that they represent top latin models in the industry.

What is one goal you feel you must accomplish?

The biggest goal that I must accomplish in the modeling industry is to become a household name. I'm talking movies, music videos, magazine cover,and calendars. I want the works! I want to be everywhere lol. That is my ultimate goal.

Singer-songwriter Cocoa Sarai: my dream is to sell out MSG

Cocoa Sarai is a singer-songwriter from Brooklyn. She discusses her songwriting, winning the Hot 97 Blaze the Stage contest, and artists she would like to write with. Cocoa appears courtesy of Tawag Promotions.

When did you write your first song? What was it, and do you still perform it?

(Cocoa Sarai) I started writing poetry at the age 11, which is something that I still do well. I wrote my first song at the age of 13. The song was titled "Goodbye". It was actually a great song at the time. Currently I don’t perform it now that I think of it; maybe I should bring it back into my set list.

Describe your experience participating in Hot 97 BET Blaze the Stage and describe your reaction when you won.

(CS) It was a lot of fun! All of the Artists performing were very supportive and had beautiful energy backstage. The start of my day to the finish was extremely busy. [laughs] This was actually my second time performing at Blaze the Stage; whereas, I performed previously in December of 2007. This time I had a great team backstage with me. When it was time for my performance I just went out there and did my thing on the stage. I didn’t think about anything else except putting on a good show and remembering the dance moves. [laughs] When they called my name for 1st Place I was standing in the back of the crowd. The experience was amazing!

If you could sit down and have a conversation about music with anyone, who would it be?

(CS) It would definitely be Prince. I think he’s GREAT! He plays a various kinds of instruments and he had so much feeling in his music. Music is about tackling the emotions, that’s the only way people can relate to it. It’s about what feels good. I’m a firm believer in that. It’s something about the way he dug deep, especially his live performances. I would like to ask him questions about his creative process.

With whom would you like to write and perform a song?

(CS) That's a hard one, well I love Neyo's writing. Of course! He’s absolutely amazing and a definite inspiration. Performance...hmmm...that would be a toss up between Prince and Kanye West. They are both amazing performers.

What is the one thing you want to accomplish in your career?

(CS) My life long dream has been to sell out Madison Square Garden. From the age of 9, I wanted to perform there. I will be extremely happy WHEN that happens... Yes I said WHEN [laughs]. Got to have faith.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

(CS) Well I’m a teaching Artist already, So I would definitely be a teacher. It’s an amazing feeling. There are people that came into my life that I will never forget, and it feels good to be able to do the same thing for someone else. Being a part of the Hip Hop Project (A documentary produced by Bruce Willis and Queen Latifah) has been life changing. And being that blessing to someone else is far more than another career choice; it’s a life mission. Also a psychologist would have been a career path for me, I’ve always been interested in the way people think. That frame of mind has definitely helped me as a Songwriter.

JJ is a model from Denver. She has been featured in VBlazin and the premiere issue of Urban Curves. She discusses her start and her plans for her modeling career, as well as her love for sports. She appears courtesy of Stallion Models.

How did you get started modeling?

I got into the modeling industry accidentally. There was a contest a couple of years ago promoted by the local sports radio station in Denver. They were looking for a squad of attractive young ladies to do promotions for the station at different sporting events around the city. Well being the sports fan that I am, I realized it would be an opportunity to go to all of the major sporting events. Denver is a big sports city (football, basketball, hockey, soccer, Lacrosse) so I was all over it!. I ended up being selected. We did a lot of various promotions, and photo shoots. That opened the door for me and I was hooked!

What do you think is your best feature?

My smile is by far my best physical feature!

What is your favorite part of modeling? What would you say is most challenging?

My favorite part of modeling is the travel, meeting different people, and the different looks you can portray with each shoot. The most challenging part would have to be finding ways to balance your time. Modeling is very demanding and time consuming. It's challenging to find ways to get everything done.

What makes you look at a photo and say "Wow!"?

Depends on the type of photo I'm looking at. I like a photo with beautiful background scenery. Also if a model is in the picture, and they can talk to me with their eyes (Despite what they may or may not be wearing) then that is definitely a "Wow" picture.

You're a big sports fan. What sporting event would you most like to attend? Why?

Just about any type of sporting event, but I absolutely LOVE going to football games. Football is my absolute FAVORITE! The energy is incredible and there's nothing like tailgating before the game!

Who are some models you admire? Why?

Elke The Stallion - Elke is not only a beauty, she is an educated Business Woman that keeps it real!
Jayonna Fabro - Jayonna is another educated Business Woman with drive and spirit. She is very stunning yet very down to earth and humble
Ladi Mahogony Da Foxx - Foxx is absolutely amazing! She is beautiful and a go-getter. Another strong, educated woman about business. She is just an all-around positive person!
Paige Monroe - What can I say Paige is a beautiful intelligent business woman that is not afraid to bring new ideas to the table or even take a risk! That's what business is about!
Mesha Model - Mesha is absolutely amazing! She is gorgeous,and an extremely talented business owner.

What is one goal you feel you must accomplish in your career?

I not only want to make myself a brand, but I want to help other models learn and excel from my experiences as well.

Hip-hop/RnB singer Barr: I want to make a difference

Barr is a singer from New York. When he was a member of the Boys Choir of Harlem, he had the opportunity to perform with some amazing artists. He discusses his beginnings on piano, his growth as an artist, and his political aspirations.

You began playing piano at age 4. What was your favorite kind of music to play when you were growing up?

My favorite kind of music to play was early Jazz and Classical music.

You've had the opportunity to perform with some incredible artists (Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, etc). How has this helped you grow as an artist?

I feel the opportunity of performing with such artists has helped me to understand my history of music and to gain ideas and new methods that helped me cultivate my style and ability of music. In addition it has increased my level of humility. If there is not one thing I learned that in this industry, it is essential to know where you are going. Above all it is imperative to know where you came from.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would it be? Why?

Any legendary icon! I am always willing to work with people who are as driven, motivated and hungry as I am.

Of what accomplishment are you most proud?

There are many things for me to be proud of, but one accomplishment has to be me discovery my passion for music and completing my first solo independent album.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish in your career?

To be honest, this question is increasingly difficult because as an aspiring artist I am always setting new goals for myself. However, one short-term goal I have is that I want to establish myself as one of the greatest artist to be in the music industry. Also, I want to make a difference within the music industry in terms of innovative sound, record-breaking sales, consecutive number one records and many more.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

I would say Politics. I actually had dreams and aspirations of being the first Black President of The United States but that milestone has been reached. Other than that, I would be a professor of music.

How did you get started modeling?

I did a shoot for a calender for a night club in Ohio! A few months later I was asked to shoot for SHOW mag!

What would you say is your best feature?

I love my eyes...But people seem to be more focused on my booty. [laughs]

What kind of exercise regime do you maintain to stay in such great shape?

I do light weights with high reps plus a lot of cardio! I love the Stairmaster and bike riding!

Who are some models you admire? Why?

Buffie the Body she is such a business woman and I love that!

Andrea Marie she is my best friend and my sis! She is so sweet and so down to earth! I love her so much! We are the Italian Stallion team!

Of what accomplishment in your career so far are you most proud?

I'm just happy that I have made it thus far! Magazine appearances are great but graduating college is my most important accomplishment for me! I'm headed into Radio/TV personality! In my opinion this is just the beginning for me!

If you could only accomplish one goal in your career, what would it be?

I just wanna be successful!!

Captain Incredible: you should stop listening to the radio

Captain Incredible is a hard-rocking, noise-blasting quartet from Dallas, Texas. Born in the dormitories of Denton, Texas (home of the excellent band Slobberbone) and raised on the shores of California, Captain Incredible now gladly calls North Dallas their home. They bring panty-dropping guitar riffs, face melting solos, bone crushing drum beats, and one and a half balls worth of bass to each and every live performance. The band members discuss who they would like to discuss music with, the band's sound, and the superpowers each member possesses.

Describe your sound for someone who has never heard the band.

Too Punk for Metal, too Metal for Punk. For practicality sake, you could file our music under the rock or punk genres in a record store. Our music is the offspring of Classic Rock and Classic Punk Rock; when our lawyer first heard us he said, "Sounds like Black Sabbath and Bad Religion made a baby."

Where would you file your music in a record store?

In the Rock or Punk sections.

What is essential to every Captain Incredible song?

At least one guitar solo, and some balls.

Why should I have your music in my collection?

It is good "go to" music for those days when you just want to scream. And because you should really stop listening to the radio.

If you could have a beer and a conversation about music with anyone, who would you choose? Why?

Phipps - Jimmy Page (do I really need to explain?)

Josh - Keith Moon, although there would have to be more than one beer involved to make this scenario work. Why Keith Moon? Just to get hammered with him, to watch him get hammered all night. I would never want to pick his brain or anything, we would just drink and party all night, so much so that talking itself would become laborious, we would both be incoherent.

Ben - Dave Grohl. I dig every project he has been a part of, mostly the Foo Fighters. He seems like he would be a kickass dude to have a beer with period.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?

Well we all have a penchant for delivering justice by any means necessary, so the four of us would probably form a vigilante superhero coalition of some sorts. I mean, we already possess superpowers too: Phipps is a brain and possesses telekinesis, Josh has superhuman strength, Ben can fly, and Casey has X-RAY vision (mostly for his own distasteful peeping habit). Or masturbating.
